Egyptian President, Moroccan King blast West Bank barrier, call for Mideast roadmap to be implemented.

CAIRO - Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Moroccan King Mohammed VI on Wednesday called for the unconditional implementation of the internationally drafted Middle East peace "roadmap."

In a joint statement at the end of their talks here, they also called for the United Nations to play "pivotal role" in Iraq.

They "hailed international efforts deployed to relaunch the peace process in the Middle East" and called for the implementation of the roadmap "without conditions or modification" from the Israeli side.

They blasted "Israel's attempt to judaise Jerusalem" and exhorted "the international community "to end the Israeli aggression against the holy city," the eastern part of which was occupied and annexed by the Jewish state in 1967.

They also condemned Israel's construction of a barrier through parts of the West Bank, which the Palestinians regard as an attempt to pre-empt the borders of their promised future state and grab some of their most fertile land.

The roadmap calls for steps from both sides toward ending more than three years of violence and reaching a final peace settlement based on a Palestinian state to be created in 2005.

The Moroccan king chairs the Al-Qods (Jerusalem) committee within the Saudi-based Organisation of the Islamic Conference, which groups more than 50 Muslim countries around the world.

He and Mubarak also expressed their "deep worry because of the deteriorating situation in Iraq, which threatens the Iraqi people and stability in the region."

They stressed the "necessity that the United Nations plays a pivotal role in the process of rebuilding Iraq and restoring its stability."

Mohammed VI arrived here Tuesday. His talks with Mubarak also focused on energising trade between the two North African states, officials said.

Hmmm, a little typo in there:

They blasted "Israel's attempt to judaise Jerusalem" and exhorted "the international community "to end the Israeli aggression against the holy city," the eastern part of which was occupied and annexed by Jordan in 1948, and liberated by the Jewish state in 1967.

That's better.

in other words, we can't let the US continue to kick out our beloved dictators or allow our citizens to start thinking about freedom and democracy...

Arabs never have anything intelligent to say anyway. In fact, in 2001(?) several weeks after the disasterous Beirut conference by the muslim heads of state whereby they drafted up the roadmap--the same one being forced down Israel's neck--these muslims met again in Indonesia. They met to draft up a definition "terrorism" but in the end these twerps couldn't do it. To show that the conference wasn't a complete failure, they ended the conference agreeing on the same old tired theme: when all else fails, denounce the state of Israel. The mental sharpness of these arab heads of state baffles the mind.(sarc)

Israel should reply thusly: "Kuss em*q, ibn Sharmuta! Har shoron, hu Shelanu! Jeruselem will remain as the capitol of Israel, not to mention Judea and Samaria.

Yes you got that exactly right. The mass media has it completely backwards. Jordan had no right to claim Jerusalem or any lands in the former Mandate. Israel liberated all of these lands from foreign aggression, from foreign states that had no right or claim to any of the lands in the Mandate.
