I haven't read the thread but I suppose it will be a typical animal rights activists dream re breed banning. These lists are usually done by an animal rights groups like the Humane society of the United States. They generally leave the easily frightened to the conclusion that certain "breeds" are excessively dangerous. (breeds is in parentheses because" breed" is usually defined by the whim of the study authors)
What they don't say is that the vast majority of dogs that bite are mutts yet mutts are never listed as dangerous dogs.

Aren't the vast majority of dogs mutts, though? One would expect the majority of bites to be mutt-bites. Perhaps those are not newsworthy, or perhaps (as is likely) pitt bulls really do more than their fair share of biting!
I don't know what it would prove to include mutts in the statistics.
