Thanks for posting this. There is far too much bashing of President Bush on FreeRepublic, so your post is most refreshing. While I respect one's right to legitimately disagree with this President and his policies, I don't respect the narrow viewpoint of some on this forum who would say that because of this piece of legislation, or that policy proposal, they intend to sit on their hands and not vote to re-elect this man. The stakes in the world today are too high to risk turning over the Presidency to any Democrat. And this article, again, reminds us of the biggest reason to re-election George W. Bush -- he is a man of great integrity who has restored respect and honor to the Oval Office, who loves this nation and what it stands for, and who loves those who defend it.

The very proposals that some of FR despise have been made by the President in an effort to get some help for those most desperately in need of our compassion.

The education bill isn't perfect but it helps the children most in need of standards, the prescription bill isn't perfect either, but there are those who would gladly spend $2 to get $3 in medication. If the plan pays for prescriptions needed to prevent hospitalization that is a huge quality of life issue. If it pays for checkups, now not paid for by Medicare, perhaps some will be helped before the illness becomes debilitating.

This president has asked for nothing that we as Americans ought not to support.
