Try Hillsboro, OR as well. It fits exactly your description of Cicero, IL.

This can't be true. All "undocumented workers" come to word hard and support their families.

As far as I'm concerned, unless you're from California you really don't have an informed opinion on the effects of illegal immigration. That's a load of crap.
I guess the legal section of the paper here loaded down with illegal's that have committed every type of crime from DWI to Murder is just made up?
I guess the people killed every year on the highways here in the Mid-Columbia by the illegals are not really dead.
It's getting so almost half of the students of the Pasco School District are illegal and now the State is giving them In-State tution to the colleges.
As for the enforcement of the immigration laws in this area. When I was a Police Officer here, we checked everyone.
Then Border Patrol would come by once a week or sooner depending upon the amount of people we had rounded up.
Was it hard for us to do? NO! It's only the lazy and the liberals that don't want to enforce the laws.
It's bad everywhere pal. And it's only going to get worst with the Bush Plan.
As for Bush. I will not be voting for him again.

Use your protest vote in a primary and reserve the right to go either way in general elections. Given that there will be no viable contender in primaries - that should get the message across. If there seems to be hope following that, vote GWB back in as he is at least less apt to give away the rest of the store.

I won't argue with you guys since we're basically simpatico re the Bush plan. I guess my comment was more directed at those pollyannas from places like Vermont, Ohio, etc who wax rhapsodic about how wonderful & hard working these people are.
You must admit, however, that as California has one-third of the entire illegal immigrant population in the country Californians are in a unique position to forecast for the rest of the country what things definitely WILL be like in 10 or 15 years provided illegal immigration in the rest of the country continues uninterrupted.

BTTT.
The correct name for this article should be "Pandering Politicians/Spineless Bureaucrats/Illegal Alien Advocates Crime Wave".
The illegal aliens show no respect for our laws the moment they step on our soil. I don't expect that someone whose introduction to this country from day 1 consists of ignoring our laws to be a good citizen.
But the politicians and bureaucrats were elected and hired specifically to write and enforce laws. It is their failure that has resulted in the crime wave.
And the people that advocate for illegal alien 'rights' are traitors. Period. They are facilitating the destruction of our country simply to feather their own nest. They deserve a traitor's fate.

MegaState Ping,
Yes, California is a lot closer to the source than we are in the northeast part of the country, but, how much of our crime is due to the same reasons?
Why would anyone leave their borders completely open, and undefended? Why would a sitting president think this is good policy?
I don't understand. You better keep your weapons cleaned and your magazines filled. Someday you might need to defend your family and neighborhood.

But the politicians and bureaucrats were elected and hired specifically to write and enforce laws.
They have gone from restraining criminal behavior, to tacitly promoting it and from collecting taxes for limited government, to redistribution of wealth.

No problem,
It's gotten so bad up here that they celibrate every Mexican holiday under the sun with front page full color spreads in the paper. And barely mention the U.S.A.'s.
