This is doing serious harm to many capable, intelligent people (especially older people) who simply haven't the time or resources to spend idling about in college classrooms listening to lectures. Most of these people got high school diplomas during a time when a high school diploma actually carried some worth, and they're getting lumped in with younger people for whom it means virtually nothing so far as an indication of what they know.

"Ah, yes..Paul O'Neill. Well of course it was a difficult decision to fire him. But he really brought it on himself. I can understand why he's upset, but all this other stuff is predictable, really not credible, and certainly unnecessary. Now that he's gone, I had hoped that Paul would do something productive with his life, but all of this name calling and insult hurling is really not helping him or anyone else. I wish him the best and hope he grows up a bit and drops the insults, fabrications and name-calling. "
Very true.
Oh, yeah? And just what are the author's qualifications for making this statement?
Seriously, there is one relatively positive thing about the incredible level of anti-Bush flak that the Dems have been throwing up, and that's that O'Neill's charges will most likely be lost in it. Which is also too bad, inasmuch as they should probably be addressed with the seriousness they deserve, but that's the price you pay for turning on a firehose of invective.
Easy. It would put HIM back in the limelight, too, and he would see it as an affirmation of his presidency.
