Reading this thread (and the posted links), got me to thinking of all of the individuals who have joined and then left over the years since I found FR.

I remember some of the "I'm leaving FR" posts. There doesn't seem to be the volume (and quality) of those going away posts anymore.

I guess what surprises me the most is that some of the individuals who have moved on are so hostile to you and FR, and yet they spend so much time covertly visiting here and then carrying back so many "guess what they're doing at FR" comments to their new location.

I hope that they can, at some point, sit down and cool off and remind themselves that FR is just an on-line internet forum.

I have seen many egos come and go over the years, but one thing remains the same: conservatives (of many flavors) posting information from around the world for discussion, followed by discussion about the probable impacts on conservative goals and the nature and direction of this great country.

I enjoy reading the comments on any particular topic from the wide range of individuals. I appreciate those comments that are well thought out, logical, and that make me think about the topic. I don't particularly like to see a strong ego shining through, as it tends to degrade the quality of the post for me, no matter how well stated.

FR is, and has been my home page these many years. It will remain so as long as it remains "the" place to quickly assimilate information and thought on a wide range of topics from a vast array of sources.

I hope that some of those who left can take a re-look at themselves and at FR and decide that while family members do tend to fight among themselves, they usually stand together against those who would undermine/harm the family. Conservatives are such a family, and we need all the help we can get in ensuring that this country does not sink further into the mire of socialist/communist muck.

I wish all FR members (and past members) a wonderful evening and may 2004 move us farther back towards our joint conservative goals.

I'm bothered by which members I see over there. I met BadJoe on the first FR cruise, and have "talked" to TLBSHOW quite a bit on this forum.

I'm bothered that they're no longer posting here, and also by the fact that they are posting against FR on that other site.
