Why do people care so much about whether someone is straight or gay?Personally, I don't care much if they're straight or gay per se so much as if they ever come on to another man while in the military. If that ever happens, IMO, they should be discharged at once.

'If however they took their endeavors elsewhere OFF base/pot and OFF duty (in this case duty hours) then their actions were in no way a viloation of their oaths because even military personnel have a personal and professional life, as long as the two remained seperate then there should be no criticism of their careers.'
Read the UCMJ, it is even older than the thread you resurrected. Got agenda?

Three retired US military officers - two generals and an admiral - who had been among the most senior officers to criticise the "don't ask, don't tell" policy for homosexuals in the military, have revealed that they are gay.
Now THERE'S a shock. No ethical problem with not disclosing that little tid-bit when stating your position, eh?
Just sickening.
Do ask. Do tell. Do dishonorably discharge.

Just goes to prove you can do a good job and serve your country well and honorably and still be gay. Good for them.
Since when is being a liar and a phony considered "honorable." News to me. Homsexuals are a cancer in the military and should be rooted out.

"It's that gays make it an issue, not straights. They say all they want is to be left alone, yet everywhere you look they flaunt their homosexuality publicly." Ding, Ding, Ding, You are correct! It's a don't ask. Don't tell policy and all they have to do is keep quite. Why is it that they cannot? It's because they will not rest until the unnatural is natural.

Would you discharge a male that came on to a female?

Would you discharge a male that came on to a female?Nope, but then the majority are still heterosexuals. The military is no place to practice "tolerance" of deviant behavior. The men have to trust each other with their very lives. I think that kind of and level of distraction within a unit would simply get people killed. I feel the same way about women in fighting units too, BTW. There have been some very good threads on that subject already.
It all revolves around the purpose and mission of the military. Kinda like the old saying, "We aren't here to practice democracy, but to defend it."

Here's a kicker for ya, the UCMJ even states that sodomy is "any position" other then "missionary." That includes oral or other various forms of sexual behavior that most hetero/homo sexuals engage in. So if the UCMJ is the end all be all then I would venture to guess that there are thousands more in the services that are in violation. Or are we just picking and choosing which ones we will/wont follow???

This brings a whole new persepective to the rank of "Rear-Admiral." :-)![](http://snltranscripts.jt.org/78/pics/78rcowperthwaite3.jpg)
Admiral Steinman, I learned from my shipmates, was a very manly, virile, manful person, and a firm believer in strict discipline, corporal punishment, and nude apartment wrestling.

10% is a myth that even the homosexuals admit is waaaay wrong.
In their own lawrence brief, the homoadvocats amitted the maxpotential of the population is 2.7% and even that is probably as fake as teh 10% number.
This just points out the absurdity of the situation and the proper policy of do ask and expell. They should have kept their mouths shut.
These "officers" have undermined their honorable service with dishonorable service because they were lying. There should be a way for the military to be able to reduce their pension rank.
To: steplock
Homosexuals are abnormal, period.
Homosexuality is about recreational sex, period.
I predict more of this articles as we get closer to 2006. Especially from the NYT. The ABC fake polls on shiavo. Barney Frank calling all opposition to "X" as mere religion.
The MSM bots, particularly the limp wristed NYT, are just pushing their own lifestyle. Why were these clinton appointees ok with don't ask don't tell? BECAUSE IT PROTECTED THMESELVES. They were counting on subsequent democrat congresses and presidents to endorse homosexual conduct.
These are clinton appointees still serving the left. They now show they never served the USA.
