Howard Dean searches for the Almighty--and we search for both of them.
"In a shift, Howard Dean says he will mention God* more often in his campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination."
"God*, it's great to be here with you in Iowa."

"God* knows I'm no theologian, but I preferred the original New Testament version, where Noah strikes a match inside the whale and builds a fire and it coughs him out onto the island. It's a powerful message about man being able to control his own destiny."very funny article - can someone explain this quote? What is Dean talking about?

I obviously put the asterisks in. This shows very clearly his current obsession with religion. I can see already that I missed one asterisk. oops.

Poor Doctor, put his fingers in places that made him shiver cause that was his job.
Obviously the good Doctor got a quickie on "God" and got Noah mixed up with Jona and the belly of that great fish "dagon". He got mixed up on the original Old Testment and the New Testment. Now if this is what he tells about his knowledge of "God" wonder what shortcuts he has taken on the economy and security. "God only knows"!

Howard Dean and Jimmy Swaggart use God for their own purposes, and God will damn them for it.

That was from a cartoon!
So, Dean's favorite cartoon version of Noah is where man controverts God's plan to return him to Nineveh by making a fire inside of the whale (the bible never uses the word whale)? Just what combustibles did Noah have to do this one wonders.

uh.. Noah never was in a whale. Jonah was eaten by the whale.

uh.. Noah never was in a whale. Jonah was eaten by the whale. DOH! I just skipped past his error and passed it on myself. Color me embarrassed.

hehe... Well, I think this whole thing is fabricated anyway; or Dean really is really as stupid as he looks. I mean first of all, he confused Noah and Jonah. Second of all, they are both from the old testiment not from the "original new testiment".
I can understand him not knowing anything from the bible, lots of people don't. But usually when people make references to the bible they don't make statements like this (completely and totally incorrect); this is just plain stupidity... or it's fabricated, like I said. If he really did make these statements, a lot of people are going to think he's ignorant and not vote for him. So score one for the conservatives.

The quote is a satire, Dean misplaced his "most admired" character in the bible - JOB - in the wrong testament. Just an illustration how phony Dean was on the issue of religion.

He's made these comments in public, so if it's fabricated, it's fabricated by Dean. And yes, many people already think he's ignorant...although others accuse him of arrogance in thinking he can pull one over the ignorant Christians.
