Newest Campaign Ad Available for Viewing On-line
Lexington - State Senator and candidate for US Congress Alice Forgy Kerr unveiled her website www.KerrForCongress.com today. The site will contain information on Kerrs record of leadership for Kentucky, issue positions, campaign updates, and allow visitors to sign up to volunteer or contribute to her campaign.
"I am excited to get my message of improving healthcare, education and security to the people of Central Kentucky and this is one more way to do that," said Kerr. "I want to provide updated information and news about the campaign and this represents a tremendous avenue to do just that."
Kerr announced that her latest advertisement will be available on the site to both high and low speed internet connections and can be viewed in a variety of on-line media players.

This special election is set for some time in February. She is running to replace Governor Ernie Fletcher, who held this seat before being sworn-in as governor in December.
Her opponent is Ben Chandler, who is running for this seat as a consilation prize having just lost the governor's race to Fletcher.

I don't understand why states like Kentucky trust Democrats who "play conservative" back home, then vote liberal in Washington DC.

In this climate, I'm very surprised she didn't say anything about "JOBS" in her welcome message or home page.

Interesting is right.. The Courier Journal had an article recently stating that the majority of hispanic population in Kentucky is illegal. I'm quite sure this will never be addressed.

I think he's her brother-in-law.

What do you mean? Until this seat became open with Fletcher's election as governor, 7 out of our 8 seats in Congress were in Republican hands. If Kerr can win this special election, we will retain this seat, and the lone Dem is retiring, giving a good shot at having 8 for 8.

What I meant was I don't understand why Democrats are even competitive in Southern states- Blanche Lincoln in Arkansas, Fritz Hollings in S. Carolina. I understand the AG of Kentucky is Democrat.

The Democrats have the State Auditor, Treasurer, and Attorney General positions of the State Government. Republicans have Governor, Lt. Governor, Secretary of State, and Agriculture Commissioner, or 4 out of 7 offices. 32 prior to this year, however, Democrats had controlled all them concurrently without interruption. The Capitol is a much different place than it was before.
