"When President Clinton extended an invitation to Woods to attend the Jackie Robinson tribute at Shea Stadium, Tiger refused, and it was reported Woods had nicer words for Zoeller than for President Clinton."
Did Tiger refuse because he heard the Mets would be playing after the tribute?
Other than that (or scheduling conflicts) why would anyone turn down a tribute to Robinson?

Speculation is WHO invited him. Clinton had not invited him to anything before. Remember Clinton was our first black President..so he was surrounding himself with black athletes for this tribute to Robinson. Tiger, again, is of mixed descent. Clinton only sees him as Black.
Would you go if Clinton wanted to look good hanging with what he considers are the homiez? ..an insult!
