Fastest police response at my apartment complex after shots fired: 15 minuets.

Time needed to break down door: 1 minuet.

Cool, you have dancing bad guys in your town?

"Wilmette residents are much safer without a handgun in their homes," he told the Tribune. "We see handguns stolen, used in domestic arguments or suicides. Those are far more likely outcomes than when you would actually need a handgun to defend yourself."

This guy is an a$$hole...

BTW, I noticed a lot of Christmas pings and e-mails from some of you. I'd like to return the greetings and wishes. Sorry for the delay, been outta town for a couple weeks...

No problem.
I was going to let it go until I realized that I might sound like one of those, "I can, you can't" people.

The situation lies in Illinois's so-called "Second Amendment". Anything that starts out with, "Subject to the police power..." you know your Rights aren't going to last.

Next time I want a contact name and phone #. Some guys in white suits with big butterfly nets were looking for you but I had no idea how to get a hold of you.

How many wanna bet that the perp sues the homeowner for the gunshot wounds? Wasn't supposed to have that gun, it was illegal, so he must pay for my 'pain and suffering'. It would not surprise me in the least. A 12-gauge would have put him out of his 'suffering', that's for d*** sure!

cartoonistx said: "A handgun is not a useful military weapon and as such I see no reason why a community cannot limit their presence in the city. "

A community might find "reason" to outlaw handguns because they might be frequently used in crimes.

A community might find "reason" to outlaw rifles because the bullets tend to penetrate numerous walls and protective vests and such "firepower" is not typically needed.

A community might find "reason" to outlaw shotguns because the tendency for the shot load to spread out might constitute an unnecessary threat to bystanders.

A community might find "reasons" such as those given above to outlaw handguns, rifles, AND shotguns.

Please identify for me whether you believe any such communities are infringing the right to keep and bear arms and what your "reasons" are for believing so.

Amen. Sneakypete is as loyal an American as you will find...and he's backed it up with abject action, putting his life on the line at the point of the sword.

Despite any disagreement anyone may have with him on some of his views...that pails in comparison to what he has done for the very freedom to hold those disagreement. A knowledge and rezpect of that tempers any differences IMHO. He's an honest to goodness hero...though he would never claim any such idea himself.

The Second Amendment doesn't specific what kind of gun is protected and which one isn't. To think otherwise is just conjecture and leads to faulty interpretations and conclusions. Which, unfortunately, too many then manipulate and many others fall for.

My preferred method of self-defense are my handguns - I keep them to protect myself and my property, God-given rights that are supposed to be protected by the Constitution. Anyone who tells me otherwise can just whistle Dixie.

Same with me. But there are some $#!+birds on FR who love nothing more than flame baiting freepers into a rage and getting them banned. I think some of these little creeps count them like scalps. Anyway, Sneakypete obviously doesn't need FR. I miss him here.

I guess you need a thick skin and not let the flame-baiters drive you crazy around here.

Yes I have let one bait me into just about losing it. I finally told him to meet me at a certain place and I would fight him. He didn't show, (and I was frankly glad he didn't) then had the nerve to come on and say he did.

Interestingly, Sneaky Pete was on the same thread and stuck up for me. I always appreciated it.
