THis article was originally released to subscribers of the national Review magazine. It's now online and in an election year IMHO it's especially to look at what happened in the mid term elections. For it will repeat itself this year as well.

It damn well better not repeat itself this year. Thune had better not be denied a righteous victory over Dashole.
I'm looking for the RNC to really get involved in the Thune vs Dashole race. Every polling place in every precinct must be watched, particularly the Indian reservations.
Good post, tx. Bookmarked.
*ping* your list, PKM. Ths one is important.

I remember being really miffed when this was not pursued - those that don't fight the Beast, when given the opportunity, invariably end up abetting it.

The DNC has trained 10,000 lawyers that will be working in precincts all across America," McAuliffe said on television shortly before Election Day. "This is a very serious issue for us." But it wasn't a very serious issue for Republicans. The Democrats and the Republicans are engaged in asymmetrical warfare all across America.
The Democrats are serious about what they want and how to get it. The Republicans usually are not.
Two examples of the different approach to the war named "politics".
In 1992, when the Republicans were in the minority in the Senate but had the 40 votes needed to stop anything, Michael Boudin was nominated as Chief Judge of the First Federal Circuit Court.
Mr. Boudin's sister, Kathy, was in prison for murdering a police officer in the course of a robbery to gain funds for the violent overthrow of the government. Her father was a notorious communist activist, her grandfather was a founder of CPUSA.
He was confirmed without debate and without GOP objection.
One year later, President Clinton nominated Ruth Bader Ginsburg as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court. She was the most radical nominee-well, EVER. Her subsequent careeer of trashing the Constitution and inventing fictitious rights was entirely predictable.
She was confirmed with three dissenting GOP votes, and no debate.
Now, the Democrats block the nomination of well-qualified mainstream judges, JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE AFRAID THEY MIGHT uphold the Constitution and defend our natural rights. And we are losing that battle.
There is no question that the RATs are prepared to fight on Election Day 2004 for maximum possible advantage.
Are we?

This story is sickening. The RNC simply has to send trained people to the problem precincts to combat Rat fraud.
Many of those could be Freepers.

Tim Johnson is a corrupt, despicable scumbag who holds his office only because of vote fraud. What is equally pathetic is the Republicans' failure to go after Johnson and his crooked enablers.
But South Dakota attorney general Mark Barnett, a Republican with designs on the governor's office, has dismissed criticisms of voting in his state, calling the story "shoddy and irresponsible and sensationalistic and garbage." (Barnett made that statement without investigating most of the allegations in the article.)
Like this idiot, Barnett - - what's the deal with him?

You have to wonder about Thune, and the republicans. After all the time and effort and money they spent on the race, he lets it go with serious charges of voter fraud? Becasue he doesn't want to put the people of SD through it? That's pretty lame. Honest democracy is too hard on their feelings?
