The position of the second kill would be standing right next to the tractor, which appears to be rather cold as it does not show up as brightly as the men, would be consistent with someone working on the engine. The first kill could have been someone running for a tool.
Monty22; yes, a lot of farmland. Ever heard of the "Fertile Crescent"? It is in Iraq.

The whole video shows the tractor pulling up to the scene. Obviously the engine is running fine. Without seeing the whole video, it is impossible to make an accurate assessment of the situation.

Not much farning going on at night in Iraq. Also after the first got smoked the second guy was working really hard and fast to unwrap whatever it was they were carrying.
Surface to air missile maybe ?
Maybe they should have stayed indoors at night and farmed when those pilots could see them better.

THe non edited video ABC showed showed the guy carrying a warm SAM launcher which he ttried to throw in the weeds.

1) From the ABCnews.com article: The video opens with the helicopter tracking a man in a pickup truck north of Baghdad. It would safe to assume that we had an Apache tracking the pickup truck for a reason.
2) The second guy, before he's tubed, is frantically pulling tarps/sheets off of something next to the tractor. I doubt it was a fresh oil filter he was after.
3) What time reference would the Apache's gun camera use: UTC, EST, local??? In the upper-left corner of the video the time appears to be something like 16:29:55 (at the end). Baghdad is UTC+3.

The first kill could have been someone running for a tool. The first kill was the guy original beside the tractor, not the guy who ran/jogged over to it. He was the second. The second guy can be seen unwrapping something, rather feverously, just before the hammer falls on him. The tractor is hot, you can see a bright vertical stripe on it's left side, which would be the exhaust stack, and at the rear you can see the rear axel of the tractor is also quite warm. The engine is shielded from view for the most part.
