There's an option, I believe, for montly donors, when you sign up to do so, to "keep your identifiable info private". I'm pretty sure JimRob doesn't even know who I am (my name), even though I have it sucked out of my checking account every month. They go through a 3rd party "collector", thus ensuring the privacy issue (as long as the 3rd party collector is as private as they say, which I think they are).

Why not do what I do. I promised to pay $10 a month. Big deal, 10 bucks ...To each his own.
I, in an attempt to be true to my own best intentions, must chart my own course. I cannot follow the herd simply because that is the path of least resistance. It's not as if I desire to shovel sand against the tide, mind you. It is just that I cannot be true to myself whilst merely parroting or blindly following what someone else has done.
I am sure that what you have done is worthy of due consideration. It is not as if I am saying that you are wrong. I'm not. You have to do what you feel is best for you. And, believe me, I appreciate the suggestion for a course of action. It has made me aware of the varied possibilities, the many ways that one may behave when presented with a particular dynamic. Nonetheless, your suggestion is simply not one that best suits my needs at this time.
Therefore, I pledge $50 / quarter. Every quarter.

I was serious about trying to be the last one to donate that puts FR over. The End is here. Was that you who put us over the top?

I personally find these quarterly mendications as irritating as a sore tooth.
Yes, but much better than NPR pledge drives.
