LIVE THREAD: Howard Dean CYA press conference ("I didn't really mean to say that, again!")
January 9, 2003

Hatred-Powered Howard is about to give a live press conference where he will attempt to explain away his dozens of recent gaffes. Should be good for a laugh. It'll be on all the news channels, I think.

Howard Dean will say: I didn't say what I said.

You know the sad thing - Dean was exactly right about the Iowa caucuses. They aren't reflective of anything more than the opinions of a small group of people who have a lot of time on their hands, many of whom are working for groups such as unions and farmer's associations.

Unfortunately, politics being what it is, Dean has to back-track. Gephardt may have finally gotten the break he needs.

I WANT Gephardt to get a break. Dick won't win the nomination, but the more Dean stumbles towards his inevitable coronation, the more money he has to spend, and the more the RAT party base will split.

My dream is Gephardt winning Iowa, Dean winning NH but by a much narrower margin than expected, and Sharpton winning South Carolina.

Does the "H" stand for Howard?
