Al's just mad because he can't be the first black president.

Killed it because he (Clinton) was too conservative.

The Democratic Party is dead, presidential candidate Rev. Al Sharpton said Thursday. And it's Bill Clinton's fault. I'm surprised he didn't say it was Bush's fault.
To: Carl/NewsMax
Wow, this is the only thing that Sharpton has ever said that I agreed with.

As I've pointed out several times here, Bill Clinton is a secret operative hired by Karl Rove to destroy the Democratic Party. He has done sterling work, and will be suitably rewarded when his project has been completed.

"People are saying, 'Will Sharpton, the Progressive, kill the party?' The party's dead. I've come to help start the resurrection," he announced. He's going to have to resurrect it on his own power, I don't think God is going to help him resurrect the party of murdered babies.

Sharpton is right, but also wrong. Clinton is responsable for much of the political ground lost by the Dems. However, he is wrong that a shift to the left will save it.

I'm going to vote for him in the primary. Virginia has open primaries, you just have to choose whether you want to vote in the Republican or Democratic one. Since there's not going to BE a Republican primary this year, the choice is clear.
I really really hope he shows up at the convention with enough delegates to make it interesting.
I can't quite bring myself to send him any money, though.

"Bill Clinton won, the party didn't," railed the radical reverend. "And Bill Clinton may not have won if it had not been for Perot." "That is my point - centrism killed this party," he insisted. "We didn't regain the Congress in 1998. . . In 2000 we lost it all. In 2002 we were demolished, we were demolished. We lost everything as a party."
Gotta admit...for a left wing, black caucus loon...he's made good points points here.
As for the comment "centrism killed this party" look for this to be the mantra of most push button, win-win-win, party over principle Republicans by 2008.

I bet they all are starting to realize that the Clintons are a curse for the Democrat party, not a blessing. That realization does not seem to be hurting Hillary - yet. But it will if things keep going wrong for them. Even some Democrats have some brains, or at least this will show if they do.
To: Carl/NewsMax
Sharpton said Democrats certainly couldn't do any worse if they nominated him for president, since the party seems to be flat-lining already.Clinton may have "killed" the party, but nominating Sharpton would be driving a stake through its heart just for good measure.
To: Carl/NewsMax
Clinton's long lost legacy? Al gives clinton too much credit for killing the democrap party. Clinton however, may kill sharpton next.

Nice try, but I'm pretty sure Rev Al was one of the kneepadders fighting to be first in line to tell us all how Clinton was a victim, blah blah blah. The Dems could've pulled the plug on Bubba themselves but chose instead to sell him their souls. Too bad, so sad. Choices have consequences after all.
