Very interesting article.
The Vedas say something similar - that one increases in piety or purification (and thereby becoming closer to God) by feeling abhorrance and detestation of evil. Not excluding the evil in one's own heart.

The righteous hate evil and the evil doers hate good. The indifferent by their passivity, seem to be more repelled by what is good than what is evil. Nikita Dean and the Democrats fall into that last category, which is why they absolutely must not be trusted with America's national security. They still do not grasp what 9/11 was all about in the first place.

Did not David say to God in one of the Psalms, "Do not I hate them who hate You? I hate them with a perfect hatred".
