There must be something very special about South Carolina. You all talk about it with such fondness. I really do need to come out and see what the attraction is. :-) Thank you.
You will not be disappointed. South Carolina is not just a state it is a way of life. You have heard of party schools and party towns but South Carolina is a party state. You definitely need to go to Charleston, Pawley's Island and Myrtle Beach to groove on some Beach Music and learn to dance "The Shag" on Ocean Boulevard.
Word to the wise - BEWARE of a drink called PJ!
In South Carolina, every man, woman and child knows all the words to all the Beach Music songs and how to dance "The Shag."
And finally, New Orleans has The French Quarter but the United States has South Carolina.
Whatr the Hell am I doing in Connecticut?

Whatr the Hell am I doing in Connecticut? I don't know, but have you been there long? I could use someone to help me present Connecticut when it comes time to profile that state on the Finest thread. Keep it in mind. ;-)

Amen to that N. Theknow. We grow up on beach music and learn to shag before we walk! Those of us who grew up in the low country, had the beaches to play on all year round.
Island of Palms, Sullivan's Island, Folly Beach, Hunters, Island, Pawleys Island, Edisto Island, Dafuskie, Hilton Head, etc, etc, etc.
Mickey Spillane lives on, I believe Pawleys' Island close to Myrtle Beach.
I can't explain it, it's something in the blood, a scent, a sound, a movement in the air, something, something elusive...

Oh my yes, pure grain alcohol and grapejuice or whatever you want to put in it! Yes, I remember PJ, the first time I had it was at a Fraternity party in Atlanta at Georgia Tech - shudder...
