With Donald Trump in charge, 'Apprentice' isn't business as usual (NBC reality show debuts today)

One lesson is abundantly clear in "The Apprentice," the new reality show that positions Donald Trump as a demigod. Money -- even The Donald's billions of dollars -- can't buy good hair. With his seedy combover, which perches on his forehead like a mohair racoon, the world-famous real estate baron is living proof that conspicuous consumption does not necessarily include a personal Fab Five.

Yes, I watched it.

It was pretty good. Both teams worked a Planet Hollywood restaurant on different days, and their returns were compared to the returns of a year ago, to make it fair.

Once again, the women won -- they were selling sex & liquor.
After the women won, they got a trip to a golf course, where Donald and his executives admonished them, that they are using too much sex to accomplish their tasks, and that's not going to get them a job with Donald. (Of course, since the tasks only measure ultimate results, and not the methods used to achieve them, I don't see how he can avoid getting one of those women to win, and he'll be stuck with the last woman standing).

The guys are always more conservative in their approach.

Quamy (sp?), the black guy was the team leader, Nick almost got eliminated, but squeaked by, Boui (sp?), the chubby guy got eliminated, because he didn't do well in merchantizing, but it was more like someone had to go, and he just happened to be it.

BTW -- they repeat it several times Sat, Mon, Wed -- it seems to be on all the time, it was even on CNBC one day -- they repeat it around 8 pm, so just keep an eye on the schedule.

The women won once again. They basically turned the Planet Hollywood into a Hooters; selling $8 shots to guys and giving them kisses and so forth. The girls continued to sell sex against the guys who failed miserably.

This is by far the best reality show ever created, but I have to question the wisdom of splitting the teams by sex. All the women do is sell sex, even when they are running a lemonade stand; the guys are at a disadvantage because they can't shake their tits at each new customer (not that I have a problem with that). Next week, Trump is going to split the teams co-ed.

Was going co-ed a decision made last episode based upon how things were going?

Here's what I'd like to see - the Donald flies both teams to Chicago where they trade futures on the Merc with $200k of Donald's money! Let's make these shows about rock-and-roll-Capitalism rather than being in the exciting food service business. yawn, jeez.

They're splitting the teams next week; I saw it on the preview. I have a feeling that the next incarnation of the show will up the stakes.

But letting 16 amateurs run the Times Square Planet Hollywood for two days isn't exactly small potatos.

I have a feeling that the final competition will have something to do with the NYSE.

Not unlike the business school I attended.

I want Donald Trump to run for Mayor of NYC to be honest, at least he would be better than Bloomberg.

2005 is just around the corner. If he keeps up the ratings like he has been, I have no doubt he would win. The question is, does he really want it?

I recommend this show.

What did you think of tonight's show with Chrissy being fired? I think they should have mixed the women and men from the start.

He's always calling me up to try and impress with stories of meeting people like Janet Jackson

Has he ever been flashed? :)

I can't believe the Donald didn't boot that B*tch when he has the chance. Did you hear her asking that Cosmo woman if she donated to Hillary's campaign? Somewhere I read she was a Clinton intern. What a B*TCH! Other than that it was a really good shoe.

I didn't see Apprentice tonight. Did you?

If you did, could you do a brief recap? Thanks.

I have to find out, when do they repeat it -- I think they rerun it a couple of times during the week.

They should be rerunning it next Wednesday. Apparently a budding romance between two of the contestants. And typical. Nick likes Amy but is resisting the idea of marriage.

HUH? They have 72 hours to renovate and rent an apartment and they wait until AFTER the rennovation to try to get customers? Why didn't one of them just go to the nearest library computer and put the listing up on the first day? Now they are actually trying to pull potential renters off the street. The Donald is sure to chew them out over this!

It was as bad as when they ran the resturant and were pulling chaps off the street for that fake autograph thingy. LOL I love this show. Troy rocks! Gotta love his even temper.
