Will GOP pick a challenger to Rep. Taylor?

If U.S. Rep. Gene Taylor is worried about being a Republican target this year, he's not showing it.

Taylor, the south Mississippi Democrat with a strong independent streak, sharply criticized President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney last week when one of the Democratic presidential hopefuls, retired Gen. Wesley Clark, made a campaign stop in Jackson.

Is this true- that Cheney is drawing money from Halliburton? If so, if it's not significant, Cheney should alter that arrangement to avoid the appearance of impropriety.

Gene has it locked up folks. That district is so hood-winked into believing Gene is a conservative.

Not limited to folks in his district. Even CA newspapers call him "conservative." HA! Unless the democrat votes straight party line, that democrat forever wears the conservative crown in the eyes of the media. That way, they have their man in office and it keeps him re-elected.
