Done.
Tom Tancredo's Office has an Immigration Hotline

Also call the RNC and select option 2, political. Please be respectful but firm in your dissent and let them know if you think that this will have a lasting negative effect on other Republican elections- 202-863-8500.
Things that need to be looked at:
1. End the anchor babies. If you do not have a parent who is a US citizen at the time of your birth, you are not a citizen.
2. Due process.
a) Stealing social security numbers (and hence ruining credit, etc.) is punishable to Americans and so it should be for aliens.
b) Violent crimes. A mother called into a radio program and told the tale that her child (6yrs) was molested by an illegal alien. He was caught and tried. The judge let him take a lesser offense so that the INS would not deport him.
c) Create penalties for judges who would release violent criminals that are here illegally to avoid deportation.
3. IRS Reforms. If employers are penalized for employees using false IDs but cannot question the perpetrators, then the IRS must supply such information of theft and fraud to the INS.
4. Employment Reforms. Employers are held accountable if they employ illegals but do not have the right to question any information had by the employees. This must be changed. Employers should have the right to question the accuracy of any information supplied by the employee.
5. Border enforcement. Shore up the resources for patrolling the US land and water borders.
6. End Government sponsored underclasses. Eliminate government subsidies for any and all aliens.

CNN is pulling a fast one. Bush is not proposing an "amnesty program" in the traditional sense of the term.

Bush is not proposing an "amnesty program" in the traditional sense of the term.Yeh, it all depends on the meaning of the word "amnesty". I've seen enough of that type political spin.

You're out of your league as a spinner. Blackbird.

1. End the anchor babies. If you do not have a parent who is a US citizen at the time of your birth, you are not a citizen.Unfortunately, that would take a constitutional amendment.
To: Dr. Marten
I was happy to vote yes, although I agree with Dawn that this is
not an amnesty proposal.
I would like to hear a better suggestion from some of the no votes. Deportation is not practical. Our court system cannot handle deportation of 8M people. The simplist solution is to not hire illegals, and not patronize those who do. However, Americans don't have the will to do that.
So what can be done? Give illegals an incentive to identify themselves. Give them an incentive to return home after a specific time. That is the essence of the president's plan. If the plan includes deportation of anyone who doesn't register as a guest worker, it will be very effective.

I think the support is there to ratify a new amendment, don't you? Why back off if the methods seem lengthy and difficult?

"deportation of anyone who doesn't register as a guest worker"That's when they'll register -- after they've been caught. And we'll let them.
To: robertpaulsen
That could be true, but that's not the president's proposal, which gives them a window of opportunity to register.
