What a pathetic cop-out. I guess we better get ready for Bloomberg-style disappointments, from this guy.

You know, I think what really has the politicians scared is that the Mexicans are - for the most part - living in the "underground economy". In a lot of cases, they work for cash, pay no taxes, and don't want or need the politicians.

Frankly, I admire their initiative. The only thing I resent is if they don't pay their way at the local hospital.

I have discussed immigration reform with the President and the need to ensure that immigrants are put on a path toward fully participating and contributing to the California economy.

Guys, change "contributing" to controlling, and Arnold and George would have it right. Destroy the U.S. of A. middle class!!!! Peace and love, George.

"I am gratified that the immigration reform proposal the President announced today is moving in the direction I outlined during the campaign.

Oh no. That means our immigration policy is being run by Maria.

There is a vast difference between immigrant and illegal immigrant.

It is important that we make sure immigrants enter the country the right way, and ensure that we do so without undermining important national security concerns.

One way to ensure that immigtans enter the country the right way (legally) is to STOP condoning illegal entry. Stop giving them a pass, and stop granting illegals amnesty under any guise.

This was an interesting comment:
"Guest worker' programs and gradual amnesty provide cover for terrorists."
-- Rep. Lamar Smith, R-Texas."

AMEN!

They are not immigrants, they are illegal aliens and the path should lead to deportation.

"It is important that we make sure immigrants enter the country the right way, and ensure that we do so without undermining important national security concerns."

Try guarding the border and punishing employers who hire illegals.

"It is the right approach."

Not in my opinion, it isn't. The right approach would not allow illegal aliens to remain in this country.
