[history]
When Mayor Willie Brown becomes "Citizen Brown'' at noon Thursday for the first time in four decades, the shift into his new life, he said, "is going to be traumatic -- but not disabling.''
After a groundbreaking 31-year career in the state Assembly followed by two terms as San Francisco's 41st mayor, Brown already is hatching his next moves: TV commentator, consultant, lawyer and head of a new public policy institute he's creating to train the next crop of politicians.

Good riddance to bad garbage.

Same old pattern. Leave office, start a not-for-profit "foundation", "institute", or "coalition".
Name yourself chairman or CEO, appoint a compliant board of directors and get them to vote a fat salary and travel expenses paid to you till the day you keel over from too much creamed chicken over toast points.
Jesse Jackson is the canniest and most long-lived scammer of them. Willie will do well, also.
Al Sharpton will be next one to do the "institute" thing after he comes in fourth in the nine dwarves race. Don't know how well he'll do, though. He's got the surface con-man patter, but not Willie or Jesse's smarts.

Every now and then you meet someone who is simply too smart to do business with. Willie Brown is that man.
Charming, affable, street smart and quick. Too bad it's been wasted on Willie Brown.

Dead - You mean that they're two different people?!?! How do we know for sure?
Willie - Do you have photographic proof, perhaps an undoctored picture of the two of you together at the same event. That might help.
