No, you didn't that directly. I have been noticing many people express the same opinion as you on Free Republic and it's the wrong tact to take. This policy is one that makes many Bush supporters unhappy. However, if too many choose the logic of not voting or writing in a person to make a point, make no mistake a democrat will get in. That's what makes it a vote for a dem. Our National Security will be in serious jeopardy. Listen to what the 4 idiot dem primary candidates state as far as their foreign policy. It's scary. If people alienate the base because of this policy, the point being made will be moot. It will be worse than this policy. It absolutely will not be worth it in the long run.
