Don't know if you remember, daisy, but when Eric first heard that he was being deployed to the Middle East, I asked him how he felt.

He grinned at me and said, "I've got peace like a river!"

I've been carrying those words of comfort from the Lord with me for almost a year now!

Hey Ohio - I am still praying for Eric (and will continue to do so.) I also want to say Thank You to all the FReepers who have held my hand during my brother's deployment. It can be scary and it's so good to know there are those out there willing to drop whatever and pray and then offer support. To copy-cat JimRobinson and paraphrase Toby Keith..."I love FR!"

I got email this morning and he said he is officially a "short timer." Yippee!! He's getting ready to travel tomorrow. I am hoping he can hook up with Mystery-AK's hubby while he's there in a couple of days. :o)

Fortunately, the only One of the two of us who is Ominscient and Sovereign has convinced the one who is sinful and sometimes very stupid that HE knows best. :o)

I say launch counter-battery fire anyways. If the civilians (who often own automatic AK-47s) allow mortar attacks to be carried out right next to them they should expect a response in kind.

Yes, my bro travels fairly regularly to Mike's station. The last time was around Thanksgiving, but I didn't get the info to him soon enough and he didn't have time to go look him up. So he'll be travelling to that place again tomorrow and hopefully they can hook up! :o)

Please know that your brave son, along with all of our wonderful troops, are in my prayers every night.

I don't know how much of a comfort that is to you, but I hope that it helps ease your mind just a little until Eric and the rest of the troops come home.
