I am not hearing anything bad about this program. Its a plan to document the "invasion" more closely. Plus the companies have to pay a fee (hopefully a lot). Call me crazy (don't really) but it sounds to me like it calls for some civility on both sides of the immigration issue. I know its not LAND MINES -- but he didn't run on a LAND MINE platform.

Okay..and once these people BECOME American citizens themselves, won't the cycle just repeat itself? Or will we block them from rising to our level? The obvious next crusade for the left will be equal opportunity (they twist to mean equal outcome) for these new citizens. That puts us back at square one.

The only reason these people will take those jobs is precisely BECAUSE they are illegal and afraid of being caught. Solve the problem and you perpetuate the problem.

Perhaps Americans won't do migrant labor because of pay. Garbage handlers in my area earn at least $18 per hour, plus benies. Think they'd switch?

If illegals didn't undercut American workers, migrant labor would pay a living wage.

I agree with you, but it is not easily seen by angry people. President Bush is willing to tackle Very hard problems. Ignoring the problem does not help anyone.

This is the first time I have turned off the TV for a President Bush speech. The illegal aliens have ruined and virtually put the State of California in bankruptcy not to mention the state of medical care is in shambles.
