Yes until the mod's got to it its original title was:
America Sold Out: Senor W's Live Speech Thread I think that was the second title. I think the original was something like "President Bush's Speech - Live Thread"

"How many Americans would willingly do migrant work?"
Go out to a home construction site and see how many Americans are there. Lots of them. Illegals are cutting wages on them.

The truth says that you are full of bullshit.

The Presidential Live Speech was the #2 thread...the Senor W was the first. Ahhhh well who cares...we got nailed anyway.

Why? .. the people are already here and working .. what impact does signing them up to a worker program do ..?? They aren't a citizen .. they cannot vote .. they can only work for 3 years .. then they have to renew the visa .. and eventually go home.
I'm not happy about the SS funds, but if the funds are being deducted from their paychecks then they ought to get some credit for it .. or else we shouldn't deduct the funds.

This is the same argument plantation owners in the south made on behalf of slavery and its effect on the price of cotton.Cha-ching! There's the quote of the day right there!

We all know this Rove election year 'proposal' is never going to make it through Congress.Just like we all knew the Supremes would overturn CFR?
More "strategery", more "stealing Democrat issues", more selling out America.

C'mon...restore the original title to the thread...it was a winner!!!

This is a measured, pragmatic proposal that offers real world solutions to our critical, vexing illegal immigration challenges.
I support the program. I predict it will pass Congressional approval and court scrutiny.
Your head may know explode.

What do you suppose would happen to our economy of we suddenly departed every illegal alien who is currently here? You don't have to deport them all at once. First we should seal our border. We keep South Korea's border pretty damnned secure, we should do the same with ours. Then and only then we should institute some sort of guest worker program...BUT...anyone applying for the program must apply from their country of origin. And finally, as illegals are discovered they should be deported, no ifs, ands or buts.

I am finding this very, very hard to believe. The only chance this could be true is if these people were working for high end employers who were overly generous; or these people were getting very high amounts of tips.
Or your "nursing" job is not as a full-fledged nurse.

I couldn't agree more.
It's damn well about time someone got up off their ass and did something about the challenges, instead of grandstanding via empty hyperboly.

He saved the United States from the terrorists...for the Mexicans. This ill-conceived policy is not just about Mexicans or low paying jobs. It opens the door to all foreigners who have a job offer in the US. There are plenty of jobs in the sciences, medicine, and computer technology that will attract foreign workers. The outsourcing of IT jobs to India and South Asia will continue as well. The graduate schools in the US are dominated by foreign students as far as the hard sciences are concerned and the trend is getting worse thanks to our failed K-12 school system.
I am particularly troubled that participants in the program will be able to bring in their families. The numbers of aliens will increase exponentially taxing our civil infrastructure even more. And each child born in the US becomes a US citizen cementing the permancy of these people. We must control immigration into this country. Bush has thrown the door open even wider.

Well, I must say while I don't agree with all of it, compared to what the media was reporting through all the "leaks", this isn't that bad.
Before I pass final judgment, I do more reading on it and see the language in the bills once they're introduced to Congress. Reading the bills will tell us what the real goal is.

This will be the equivalent of bringing an entire new state of 9 million liberal Democrats into the union. You are so right Kevin. It's what they do now, the unions back them and march them around demanding health care. I've seen it with my own eyes. This really makes me ill.
I'm writing int Tancredo. This is really disgusting!

Not only that .. but most white people will not work the service jobs .. maids, janitors, waitors, yard workers, etc. That's a load. If that were the case we wouldn't have unemployed or folks on welfare. As someone earlier said, get rid of welfare and we will fill our jobs.
