Reminds me of the 1988 Bush1-Dukakis debates.

The Bush Team had a secret "Plan B" that, had the diminutive Dukakis insulted the 6'+ Bush too much or scored too many "points", the latter would step out from the podium and walk over to stand side-by-side with tiny Mikey, in a symbolic "challenge". The electorate could make their own conclusions.

Turned out, they didn't have to use it; Dukakis was inept.

Algor tried this in the '00 debates with W. Remember W's bemused nod of acknowledgment? Made Gore look like a big-assed bird, standing there without a forest to blend into.
