No. But you are pathetic. Now stop trying to turn this into a flame war.

As Rush always says, he was using half his brain, especially when he wrote this article.

Rush has more smarts in half of his brain than you do in your entire brain!

Interesting, I had thought that both father and son are 6'1. What is your estimate?

Or you could stay off this thread if you think it's so stupid.

I didn't hear it, but it's the sort of lighthearted poking fun that Rush has always done.

There are a few of you who can't seem to resist getting on every Rush thread to get in some nasty digs.

I wonder if you called Rush in the past and didn't like how you were treated or something.

This thread is not even about Rush or his problems and yet you persist in bringing them up for the 100th or so post.

Go away on these threads if they bore or annoy you. Personally I thought it was funny.

Bush 41 is quite tall, 6 3 or 4. Bush 43 is probably 5' 11 or maybe six feet. When you see them together there is probably a 3 inch difference.

I came to the thread for the interesting title, read Rush' comments and were highly disappointed that he was trying to create a Democrat bashing issue out of a simple matter of stage craft that gets used at some point in his career my every politician at every level.

As for the "few of you", you've got the wrong guy. I hardly ever jump on Rush threads and even more rarely engage in nasty digs (I don't consider anything I said about Rush here a nasty dig, expecting more from someone isn't either nasty or a dig).

I live in the mountain timezone (pacific timezone during daylight savings), almost no radio shows get here live and there'd be no point in calling in.

The thread isn't even at a hundred posts, if your going to use insulting hyperbole make sure it has a moderate basis in fact.

These threads don't bore or annoy me. Twits that don't know how to read do though and make blanket accusations that anyone that has any experience with me on FR would know are false (even the ones on FR that don't like me know I don't hound Rush threads just to say bad things about him). People like that should go away.

Anyone who doesn't think height matters needs to splain about elevator shoes & high heels. Then they can xplain why Hillary didn't go to Iraq w/ Chuckie Schumer and went w/ that sawed-off dweeb nobody this side of the Appalachians had ever heard of (and whose name I have already forgotten) & whose only remarkable characteristic was that he wasn't taller than her highness.

How can what Rush said on ESPN be described as politics?

Stupid, maybe.

Ill advised, maybe.

But it wasn't politics.

I'll recap for you. Everyone on panel is discussing Donovan McNabb.

Good Lord, what happened to the man? He was so great and now, he's just terrible. What could have happened?

Rush simply postulated that perhaps he was never THAT great, perhaps he was overrated.

If he had stopped there, nothing would have been said. But then he added that the press, anxious to have a Black quarterback attain the status of greatness, gave him too much credit.

I think he was wrong about that, but it was his speculation.

But, how is that politics?

Okay, maybe I've got the wrong guy. Sorry.

I've been on a lot of Rush threads and it seems like the same crowd always jump on to bash Rush.

They say the same things over and over again. It seems like they are gloating that Rush has had problems ... of his own making maybe, but a lot of problems we have are.

I've just enjoyed Rush for years, feel he has been a huge friend to the conservative cause and deserves better than to be dumped on by people who should at least give him a little benefit of the doubt till we know exactly what happened.

Personally I thought it was funny.

And so did I. I find highly amusing the lengths people will go to in order avoid looking short. And manipulating images does matter--or so, FDR thought when you consider the paucity of photos of FDR in his wheelchair.

I recall in the 80s reading that the taller candidate always wins.

Usually wins. You may remember that Gore was taller Bush and tried to show it off at one of the debates but it backfired.

Here you diagnosed it yourself:
If he had stopped there, nothing would have been said. But then he added that the press, anxious to have a Black quarterback attain the status of greatness, gave him too much credit.

Once he started talking about the press having some sort of bias he made it political. Press bias is a political topic, it's a frequent political topic on Rush' radio show, it's a frequent political topic right here on FR, when he brought it up on ESPN he made his segment political. He should have just stuck to HOW McNabb was overrated (ie the stats) and avoided WHY. Nobody ever got fired fro ma pre-game show for saying a quarterback sucks, say the press sucks and you open up a whole different bag of worms.

Thanx for the info. I only remember the debate where he moved toward him and needed a good beat down.

Apology accepted. I know for every frequent topic on FR there's the crowd that will jump into every thread and say something for and the crowd that will say something against. Makes a lot of those threads turn into running battles. I try hard not to be in any of those crowds and will usually start ignoring a topic after a week or two just to make sure.

I enjoyed Rush for quite a while, he's one of the reasons I figured out I was conservative. I heard liberal friends bitching about Rush but had never heard him, then he got that short lived TV show and I watched a couple of episodes, hurt my neck I was nodding so much. I don't think it's possible to over estimate the good thing Rush did for conservatism in the early 90s, but that doesn't give him a pass on dumb things, if anything it open him up to more criticism. When someone has proven they can do A+ work phoning in a B is disappointing. I got bored with all of talk radio during the second Clinton administration and still am, I tune in once in a while but nobody can hold me for a whole show. I was happy when Rush got the ESPN gig, I thought it would be really cool. I'm still rally irrate at him for how he blew it.

That's the one I'm talking about. Appearently Gores advisors thought he should stand next to Bush at some point so people would see he was taller. But Bush turned it around on with that look.
