You tell em, borders are racist.

Nice ad hominem attack. I never said borders are racist. Secure borders are critical. I am opposed to illegal immigration. What is being proposed is a way for people to come into the country legally to work. Big difference.

Just because you make some people legal does not mean illegals will stop coming. If it still sounds good to work in the US, people will still come and get illegal jobs and not pay taxes and undercut the "legal" working immigrants in wages. And I say this because of the requirements like: Someone must have a job for you,You must show you can support your family, you must reapply in three years.etc..
If you can't do this, you will come over illegally.

but the majority of local LEOs are against cooperating with the INS. And of course, the ACLU is backing them, so you can't blame that one on the administration.>>>

I'm not 'blaming' anyone, however the Feds could also cut the 'highway monies' to any state that didn't co-operate, same as they're 'threating' the hospitals.

(1)This plan would provide a way for people to come here legally to work, and would make it easier and cheaper than coming here illegally.>>>>We already have 'plans' that allow for legal immigration. We have laws too, but they are 'selectively' enforced by our own gov't.

(2)By allowing a legal avenue for workers to come here, we can monitor and do background checks on the people who enter.>>>>>>If we don't have the 'manpower' to find a million illegals coming in per yr., how much manpower/money to verify 12 million at once, plus their employers ??

(3)If the workers are here legally, they will be paying state, federal and local taxes, just like you and me.>>>>How much in taxes do min. wage workers (most w/many dependants) pay ?? Are their taxes paying for all the services they use in CA??

(4)The work visas are for 3 year periods, and the workers have to return to their home countries or re-apply for a visa. >>>>>>>>"Anchor Babies" will CONTINUE to keep many from 'returning to their home countries'.

(5)The real argument is that if these workers were not here, the employer would have to higher Americans at a higher wage >>>>>> Americans need a 'higher wage' to pay the 'higher taxes' we have. Do you think these 'illegal employers' should also be given their own 'amnesty' when they step foward & admit breaking our laws??

(6)They will have legal documents that clearly identify them as foreigners. A lot of illegals now purchase false ID's which would make it easier for them to register and vote.>>>>>> Yea, while we're busy handing out 8/12 'legal' ID's, our borders will be stormed by the next millions looking for the next 'reward'.

The USA has given 8 'rewards' to illegals in the last 18 yrs., which has only resulted in 12 million here waiting for the next 'reward'.

In regards to the statement about illegals paying taxes to cover the cost of their health care:

I think you directed this comment to the wrong person. I never said anything about illegals paying taxes to cover their health care.

What I did say is that if people were here working legally, they would be paying taxes into the system, instead of working under the table for cash. They would use the same public services they use now (schools, fire, health), but rather than getting them for free, they would be contributing the same as you and I do.

Do you know how much the average immigrant worker makes annually in america? By far less than the lowest standard of living in america. Do you think americans should accept these wages?

Do you think the government should interfere in how much these jobs are worth by artificially limiting competition for these jobs? Americans do not have to accept these wages. They can find other jobs, start their own businesses, or if they are Democrats, try to start a union.

In many cases, you have a choice: employers can hire people here for the wages that allow them to make a profit; the employees spend at leat a part of that money here for housing and food, etc., pay taxes and generally contribute to our economy. Or, employers move their operations to Mexico, China, South Korea, etc.; those countries get the jobs, taxes and economic activity. Unless, of course, you support preventing employers from moving out of the country (not exactly a conservative position).

We already have 'plans' that allow for legal immigration. We have laws too, but they are 'selectively' enforced by our own gov't. True, but those laws are primarily directed toward people wanting establish permanent residency. This is directed toward those who want to come her to work, then return home.

If we don't have the 'manpower' to find a million illegals coming in per yr., how much manpower/money to verify 12 million at once, plus their employers ?? Illogical argument. It is much harder to locate someone who is trying to hide from you than it is to keep tabs on someone who is registered, has an address and employer on file, etc. I think the enforcement mechanisms should be tightened up, but it takes fewer manhours to monitor legal workers living here openly than finding illegal immigrants hiding from the law.

How much in taxes do min. wage workers (most w/many dependants) pay ?? Are their taxes paying for all the services they use in CA?? So, accroding to this argument, we should only deport illegals who make minimum wage, because they will not pay enough in taxes. By that logic, we should deport everyone, citizen or not, that doesn't pay enough in taxes, for failing to do "their fair share". Sounds like a Democrat argument (although they would deport the rich).

>>>>>>>>"Anchor Babies" will CONTINUE to keep many from 'returning to their home countries'. I agree, that law needs to be changed. Only babies born to people who are already here with permanent residency visas should be granted citizenship.

Americans need a 'higher wage' to pay the 'higher taxes' we have. That is a good argument for a better tax structure and lower social spending, not for preventing people from legally entering the country to work. Do you think these 'illegal employers' should also be given their own 'amnesty' when they step foward & admit breaking our laws?? I think anyone who has knowingly hired illegals should be prosecuted; I think anyone who violates the proposed laws should go to jail.

The government has already established the minimum wage law which does determine how much some jobs are worth.

There are some cases where I do not support moving jobs to foreign soil.

I am not concerned about what my opinions or position sounds like.

The union joke however, was funny.

That should be easy to do ... (???)

The Gov't is the only entity that can prove a negative. ;-)

It's easy to do that, just advertise the job as starting at $23,500 or some other low number a year. Voila, no Americans wanted the job...

RICO politics. G.W. is a proven socialist pandering to the Mexican threat of dumping tens of millions more of their 3rd Worlders.

Bush speaks of criminal being barred, but every on of the "undocumented" workers and families are nothing but criminals leaching on the citizen taxpayer.

Deport all of the criminal aliens, man, woman, and child - registered, finger printed, and photoed as criminals.

NOW must first lock down our sovereign borders because this is too long after 9/11.

Purge/prosecute our nation's RAZA racists and RECONQUISTIA conspirators who organized this widespread conspiracy to commit the immigrant, Social Security, labor, auto insurance, and other felony and misdemeanor violations of law, federal and state. Blackrobes are just more of the grand invasion conspiracy under color of law.

Sedition is not the least of the multitude of crimes overlooked by our 5th column politicians.

Taxpayers are heavily subsidizing these criminal low wage earners with free education, free health, and citizens as suckers by imported crime and tort.

The economics of labor AND the innovation of new methods and technologies is distorted because of the mass invasion of tens of millions of criminal, irresponsible foreign workers and their families.
