DR. DEAN'S ADVANCE: UNSTOPPABLE...
New York Post ^ | 1/07/04 | DICK MORRIS

January 7, 2004 -- IF Howard Dean wraps up victories in the early primaries, as now seems quite likely, he may find that he has won them too well, so that his victories contain the seeds of his own destruction. But he'll likely survive - thanks, ironically, to the work of the party establishment. Any candidate who wins Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina acquires a political momentum that's hard to stop. But in Dean's case, such early victories will do more than just accelerate his campaign, attracting media attention, money, supporters and votes - in each of these three primaries or caucuses, he stands likely to knock an opponent out of the race.

Dick Morris has spoken. Translation: Dean is not going to win the nomination.

Morris should read the latest polls, Clark has almost caught Dean if what I saw a minute ago here is true.

He's forgetting the 800 pound gorilla in the corner - the "Superdelegates" who have their allegiances set only to the party bosses - not to any given candidate. (And you thought I meant Hillary. Admit it. Well, indirectly that's exactly what I'm saying.)

Terry McAwful owns 40% of them already - see my post above. How ironic would it be to have Dean (or Clark) win the nomination prior to the Supers being tallied, and then have the nomination go to someone else?

But the winner out of that fight will be The Ankle. She'll get 11% or more of the delegates via write-in votes. Add those 40%, and there she is - 51% of the delegates are hers. No primary races required, no money spent, no damaging sound bites, just The Ankle in her crusty pant suit.

She's running in 2004, without having to run at all. Now we know why McAwful was installed as the party chief.

Here's how Her Heinous is going to run in 2004. I'm sending this to you for your review. It all fits too well.

I know. Once the thought came to me, I wanted to puke. But on the bright side, having The Ankle run as the Rat is president Bush's best chance to be re-elected. There is no other candidate that is so polarizing as The Ankle. This may be the reason that the Clintons were not prosecuted by Ashcroft - almost like The Ankle having those FBI files. If she runs, let the prosecutions begin.

Oh please, oh please...

That would be so freaking great. Dems beating each other up all the way to the convention? Excuse me while I wet myself.

If the Supers took away the nomination and handed it to someone who got fewer votes, they would be creating a Permanent State of Florida within the RAT party. The Deaniacs would bolt, enmasse. If Howie-Baby didn't bold with them, the Deaniacs would fix their wagon to a Nader-like star.

Let the games begin!

Did you ever visualize Dick Morris sitting in front of something that looks like a huge chess board with all the pieces representing candidates for office and other politicians?

It's like a huge game for him, moving all the pieces around to the left and right and 'triangulating' (his favorite buzzword).
