A plan to triple the number of Border Patrol agents assigned along the 4,121-mile U.S.-Canada border in the wake of the September 11 attacks has been reached, as the government continues its buildup against further terrorist attacks.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Robert C. Bonner, who oversees the Border Patrol, said 1,000 agents are now stationed along the world's longest undefended international border, compared with about 300 before the terrorist strikes that killed almost 3,000 people.

Three men working one man per 8 hour shift and working 7 days a week and you have 1 man to guard every 12 miles of border. Put in a fudge factor for days off and it is more like 1 man for every 20 miles of border.

I suppose in a jeep they can cover it but how effectively?

Yep; very stealthy; the tens of thousands of south-of-the-border illegal aliens still flowing into the United States will be shocked.

The Alaska Yukon BC border will be especially tricky.

Meanwhile he rewards anyone coming across the southern border, even tho they murder border patrol agents; even tho he knows that a Mexican government official was arrested for heading a group that brings ARABS across our southern border.

Simply more 'election year' politics.

This way this administration can claim they "tripled" the number of Border Patrol Agents on our northern border and most sheeple will never be concerned with how ridiculously few that is or, more importantly, HOW MANY HUNDREDS OF NATIONAL GUARD TROOPS THIS ADMINISTRATION REMOVED FROM BOTH BORDERS BEFORE THESE NEW BP AGENTS WERE IN A POSITION TO REPLACE THEM!!!
