Nope, what I portray is that we have always had illegals. What I desire is a solution that doesn't break the bank by throwing them into jail, deporting them so they can come back, or just simply shooting them. All of those choices are not acceptable and I don't think you want to pay for them either by raising the tax base, so the only other solution is making them a part of the solution. You don't have to just give the farm away at first. Make them pay for the franchise that they desire. The sky is the limit and the SS system needs more participants or the baby boomers will march on Washinton because they aren't getting their checks in 7 to 8 years. As far as the illegals who are criminals, well we have a judicial system that will take care of them, and those are the ones who we deport or lock up and make them work under the federal prision system (God forbid). So, what is your idea for a solution?

"
So, what is your idea for a solution?"Simple. Quit lettin' them in carte blanche, like the assembly line visa mill in Saudi Arabia was doing.
We can undo the mischief that Bobby Kennedy did when he abolished the immigration quotas and re-establish the system that served for over 180 years before that.
"Diversity is our strength" is the saddest myth that has come down the pike in a long time.

Remove the financial incentive for them to come here. ie:
Anyone who hires an illegal and gets caught goes to jail.
Oh and BTW, the "who will work the fields" argument is bovine fecal material. I spent plenty of time slogging through the mud of midwestern fields while paying my way through college - but today I'd have to speak spanish.
Also, who "works the fields" in Europe? European agriculture seems to be doing just fine without illegal labor.
