WASHINGTON President Bush is proposing to let foreign workers who have U.S. jobs waiting for them enter America.
Virtually silent on the immigration issue for two years, Bush was working today on remarks he will make about immigration on Wednesday afternoon at the White House to about 150 people active in immigration issues.
White House press secretary Scott McClellan would not say whether the president would announce a detailed proposal, or general outlines of a proposal to match willing foreign workers, mostly from Mexico, with receptive U.S. employers. There are an estimated 10 million undocumented workers in the United States, as many as half of them from Mexico
Its the issue of what hes talked about before about matching willing workers with willing employers where there are jobs that Americans are not interested in filling, McClellan said.
Thats an economic need that exists. Its important that we have a fair immigration policy and an immigration policy that addresses those economic needs, McClellan added.
The announcement comes just before Bushs scheduled meeting with Mexicos President Vicente Fox next week at the Summit of the Americas in Monterrey, Mexico. Mexican officials have complained bitterly at times that while the Bush administration has sought their help with border security and combatting drug trafficking, they have not acted on their desire for favorable changes in U.S. immigration policy.
Mexican officials have argued that the administration used post-Sept. 11 security concerns as an excuse to better protect, rather than allow freer movement over the U.S.-Mexican border. Tense relations were further aggravated by Mexicos decision not to support the U.S.-led war in Iraq, and when Bush refused to stop the execution of a Mexican national in Texas.
It's going to take a few more years yet for this problem to reach critical mass. Illegal immigration is only now beginning to affect a majority of states and more people are speaking up. So politicians will soon have a choice: lead, follow, or get out of the way.
Economic or political one? Who is BULL$$$TIN who?
Q: Why does the United States Government permit wholesale illegal Mexican immigration?
A: For the workers.
Q: Why does the United States Government need foreign workers (not just Mexicans)?
A: It does not have enough labor force to meet the service sector and other blue collar work sector demands and growth within it's economy.
Q: Why does the United States Government not have enough workers to meet economic demand?
A: Over TWENTY MILLION AMERICAN WORKERS HAVE BEEN ABORTED OVER THE PAST TWENTY YEARS.
Q: If over twenty million American workers have been aborted over the past twenty years, who is going to pay for (read: generate taxes) the Social Security of the baby-boomer generation (now reaching critical mass)?
A: Mexican workers.
Final Question: If they had survived, who would they have to thank for it and WHO WOULD THE TWENTY MILLION ABORTED AMERICANS HAVE VOTED MOST FOR?
Any questions?
That's something the illegal alien apologists don't want anyone to know about as it blows their whole shallow argument out of the water.
If illegal immigration isn't stopped and soon the Republic is finished.
No worries. I can safely say you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about though. Good luck.
Or just too lazy to work for less when they can just take a free handout? Funny how your crowd condemns "the illegals" (nice codeword there) for taking handouts but you fully support your lazy friends doing the same. Fwiw, I am against illegal immigration, but I, like GWB, would like to see more people allowed into the US who are willing to work in the place of lazy losers who would rather sit around and collect unemployment than roof a house for minimum wage in the middle of a Texas summer. Mexicans will do that gladly. More power to them. A legally immigrated Mexican that will do that while some lazy POS sits around taking unemployment because he thinks he is better than that is a far better human being in my book. I'd rather have better people living in America than more losers. Call me crazy.
You seem almost cultish in your slavish devotion to whomever it is you agree with on whatever issues.
You can't? Or you just don't want to? Funny that legal Mexican immigrants can but you can't.
More power to you. Nothing to worry about from legal Mexican immigrants then. Let's have more.
Smart? Fine. It most definitely is lazy as well though. I would trade you an abolition of unemployment handouts for this GWB "amnesty" bill. But since that isn't going to be happening and there are people willing to work hard and serve this country while lazy people sit on their butts taking handouts, then bring them on.
You're doing more harm here for the President's name and cause than anything else. I wonder if that isn't just what you intend.
FR is a very, very, very small (a few thousand people) website that gives a forum to a radical FRinge from American society. While there are some good conservatives here, there are also many wack-jobs that despise this president and everything he does. They moan and whine constantly. I would like to see that they do not vote for the President or the GOP. Neither one needs them. They are not a base. They are a small group of misanthropic isolationists and racists. GWB and Karl Rove know what they are doing and will win in a rout in 2004. Just watch. I'll be celebrating that rout. A huge percentage of FR will not be.
