Well, since you brought it up; the only reference to the bible in the article was in the book of Leviticus, and the verse dealing with gays is:

Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

I'd call that 'creating a hostile environment', wouldn't you?
