First off, the author is just making a foray into politics and, unlike you, he realizes that we can not isolate ourselves in this world.

Second of all, do you really think that what Bush is doing is moving us towards "socialism"? I mean, I wasn't happy about the prescription drug plan either but at least he hasn't proposed some idiotic national health care like all the Dem candidates and he believes in moving towards a more free market approach to the two spending albatross' around the government's neck (Social Security and Medicare). That he hasn't succeeded as yet doesn't mean that isn't where his heart is.

Bush is a little too nice and a little too desirious to show he gets things done for my taste but he is no socialist.

Bush is a good moral man, unlike the cad who pre-dated his term.

However, Bush did not propose, though he delivered a key piece of the Hillarycare package. If he is not a socialist, I am not sure what definition you are using.
