Pres. Bush traveled to St. Louis to promote his "No Child Left Behind" education law. Pres. Bush spoke at the Pierre Laclede Elementary School, which he said in his Saturday radio address had risen "to meet our new standards."
Pres. Bush also visited with about 50 fourth-graders. One asked Pres. Bush if he had wanted to be president when he was a child.
"No," Bush told the children, all nearly a decade shy of voting age. "It can be pretty hard." Still, he called his job "a very rewarding experience" and took credit for "a world that's more peaceful, (where) more kids are learning to read."
He also appeared at his first campaign fund-raiser of the year, adding to a record total of more than $110 million in contributions for a primary race in which he has no Republican opponent. Pres. Bush now has $120 Million in his campaign bank account.
On Thursday, the second anniversary of the signing of the No Child Left Behind Act, Pres. Bush will hold a similar event at West View Elementary School in Knoxville, Tenn. Both events are paired with re-election campaign fund-raisers.

I say, go for it, MS. B.
If it sounds like it's right up your alley, then you should make it YOUR alley!

Atkins has worked for me. Don't mean to butt in here, but Gretchen really helped me when I hit a plateau that just wouldn't go away.
I've lost a total of 140 pounds on Atkins, and have goal to go! 40 more left, I say, 18 according to Doctor. We'll see who wins!! I'll take the 18 off and seee if I like what I see in the mirror. If I don't, I'll keep losing until I do.
I do miss fruit and vegetables but it takes staying on "induction" for me to lose weight.

I second the applying for that job. Go for it.
Send me some soup, okay? My hands are freezing. The house still hasn't come up to temperature and I'm cold.
I think I'll make some sugar-free hot chocolate. I need to get something hot in me.

WOW! Sounds like you're qualified to do many things. And do I remember that you are willing (eager?) to relocate? Unfortunately I don't have any contacts with the companies you've listed, but hopefully someone here will. And you have my prayers!

Congratulations on your weight loss! What an accomplishment. Any suggestions for what I can do to help my husband? I, too, am working on losing a little, but I do like fruits and veggies and (not to brag) I just have more willpower than he does.

I let our new kitten, Lucky, out of the laundry room where he/she was quarantined (healing a big hole in her side) today. She got really "hissy" when any of the puppies approached her and is still pretty skittish around humans too. I put a basket full of soft blankets on top of my desk, out of reach of the dogs. All of the sudden she was gone and mr. homemom burst out laughing--Lucky had gone into the organ I inherited from my grandfather and was peeking out of where the foot-pedal was! It was a good hiding place for her, but I hope she doesn't hide anything stinky in there because it sure would be hard to get out. Don't you love how animals entertain us?

Yeah, I love my critters..
Minette is the little "monster" always in some kind of trouble.
The mirrior over the vanity in thr bathroom is to far away for me to see to apply make up, so I have this little mirror on a pedastal..
Minette is currently admiring herself in that mirror
LOL

Yep..
Leeks are long and cylindrical, with white bottoms,
and large leathery leaves on top.
(You only eat the white parts)
Leeks can contain alot of sand between their layers, so they must be rinsed out very well..
Chop off the dark green leaves, then slice the leeks lengthwise, and rinse under water..they have alot of layers like onions, but not so tightly packed..
