During the 2000 election I learned not to trust the spin. I was accused of being a hand-wringer or disruptor for being nervous about the Zogby polls. "Special Sauce!", "Special Sauce!" on every Zogby thread when in reality we should have been paying attention and out fighting for votes instead of just imagining what we wanted to believe.

How can you fight for dead votes? That is Zogby's special sauce and why he makes adjustments on the very last day.

Well, there were "lots" of folks, and I would suggest a "majority" of folks, telling me that Zogby was full of crap and that Bush would win by a landslide. That makes Zogby right and freepers wrong regardless of what the special sauce was. His special sauce was a lot more realistic than our lack of it.
