My point in the previous post is that the SI article didn't make RU 1000 look good at all.

1869, baby!
Keep it alive and it will come back. Tulane dropped out of the SEC a few years back and there was move this year to get rid of football. There are people who don't like the game.

You have the WORST case of myopia I have ever seen. That paragraph is simply a statement of fact, which is not in dispute. The BCS does determine which teams play in certain bowl games, they do rank a one and two, and so on. NOWHERE does this state or imply that the BCS is the ONLY Div 1-A national football championship, nor that the NCAA is connected in any way. In fact, should you follow the steps on my other post, it lists the AP title BEFORE the BCS! Your statement that the NCAA does not recognize the AP title if factually in error.
When are you going to answer the questions in posts 132, 139, and 142? While you're at it, answer this one. When is Alabama going to give back its 1978 AP trophy?

myopia=A visual defect in which distant objects appear blurred because their images are focused in front of the retina rather than on it; nearsightedness. Also called short sight.
If you mean, I don't explore, blur, and twist facts to find the conclusion that I want, then I am short sighted.
The BCS was created by the conferences to select a champion.
They did.
Sorry my near sightedness prevents me from seeing anything else.
But, I do know when the rules and rewards are up to interpretation, it diminishes the rules and rewards (like giving the #1 spot to two people or groups). That might qualify for far sighted.
Anything before the beginning of the BCS is what it is. But, when they agreed to a single system, it was done.
I've answer the corrupt writers questions a number of times. It's this simple, if they had picked LSU, would you still fight so strongly?

I absolutely shocked you misinterpreted my statement and slanting it to mean what you prefer (even after I corrected you). Again.

You haven't answered a single one. To say the BCS ranking system is not open to interpretation is the height of comedy. Can you explain the basis each computer poll uses, which computer poll uses strength of schedule and which does not, how many weigh in home versus away games, which use margin of victory and which do not? If the polls aren't open to interpretation, then why aren't all the polls indentical?
Again, since you claim the AP is not real, when will Ohio State and Alabama give back their trophies?
To: SoCal Pubbie
Oh, and when are going to admit you were wrong in stating the NCAA doesn't recognize the AP Championship? Hell, they recognize SC's No. 1 rating LAST year in the Sagarin Poll (part of the BCS!).
To: AmishDude
I think that the two worst teams in D I-A should play in a bowl game in Alaska in the outdoors. You could pencil SMU in for that one.
To: PRND21
Will President Bush invite both teams to the White House?
To: SoCal Pubbie
The chaos that existed before regarding Ohio State and Alabama was what created the BCS. I see no point in debating what happened in the past.
As far as interpretation. When the end product is simply "This is the Winner", I find it meaningless to interpret. When they said "This team is the winner" did they mean "That team is the winner" or "That other team is the winner" or maybe "This team which we haven't even considered is the winner."
No. I think they're result was quite clear. It's okay if you don't agree with it, it was still very clear. But it really isn't really honest when you say you are interpretting a result by the BCS when you are really just disagreeing.
Will Tennessee give their National Championship back in 1998 because Sagarin (the only method among 19) picked someone else? They could "interpret it that way."

It's WAZZU; not WaSU. of course, but in posts I have found people get confused with the correct spelling. You can also spell it Wazoo, if you want to PO somebody, or attend that other school in Moscow. People outside the NW seem to identify Washington State University better that way. Just like using So Cal instead of USC for southerners. Although, I believe that they know which USC we are talking about this year.

You'd have loved the elections in Iraq!

Since you bring it up, you would have loved President Gore.

"I'll continue to state it and you will be unable to effectively deny that the Pac is a wuss, overrated football conference."
In today's column by Stewart Mandel from Sports Illustrated.com:
"I always get a kick out of the perpetual disdain with which SEC fans view the Pac-10. Never mind that of the last SEVEN head-to-head meetings between the two conferences, the Pac-10 has won SIX."
Consider your point 'effectively denied'. Or do you wish to spin this one, too.

Unlike you, I recognize reality. Gore is NOT President, but using the analogy of the 2000 presidential election is like saying the California primary was the "only" valid vote. What you cannot admit is that the BSC is NOT an official championship, but a nomination by acclamation. It is no more valid than the AP championship. Why can't you just let both schools enjoy their split championship?
