THE OLD, TIRED IDEA that America has only a finite number of jobs -- and that we must guard them zealously against raids from cheap foreign labor -- has been making a remarkable comeback. The only difference is that its upside-down view of the economy has plumbed new depths.

In all seriousness, would you describe yourself as an extremely happy, extremely contented person? I'm just curious.

Extreme contentment breeds complacency. Ignoring problems doesn't make them go away. The only problems that go away by ignoring them are your teeth. And acknowledging that there are problems doesn't mean someone "hates America."

Extreme contentment breeds complacency.

You don't understand what true contentment means, obviously.

Coward.

You ignored your deliberate violation of the property rights of the articles' owner. Did your asian handlers teach you about license rights violation?

I like forward thinking posts such as yours. Why do you think future opportunities will be in those areas you mentioned above?

I am a very successful investor because I think like Jules Verne.

I don't look back.

I see early trends.

Biomechanics when baby boomers are aging and rich.
Replacement and enhancement surgery.
Personal transportation devices.
Recreation.

Nanotechnology
Miniturization of high tech devices to molecular levels.
Imagine a swarm of programmed nanomachines injected into clogged arteries with the function of scouring-out placque down to the artery wall or programmed to attack cancer cells, one by one..
Imagine nanobuilding blocks matched to the DNA of a patient and programmed to repair damage to internal organs.

Superconductors
Transport electricity very efficiently or create future transportation systems based on magnetic fields.

Imagination is the start of construction.

" These two statements are completely contradictory."

You've made your counter statement. Now provide some facts instead of letting your mom help you to back it up.

" This might be the problem. Fwiw, FYI, many Communists own businesses and sell them for profits."

That's so clever, I just dropped my cigar into my bourbon. Maybe your mom should get your dad so you can create another eloquent retort. It's amazing that you asert that a Communist would own a business. That's the ultimate in ignorance and lack of knowledge about the works of Marx. It's too bad all your mom and dad can get you is a NEA eductation.

And it's really too bad that my taxes will have to pay for your retirement because you're too stupid to create anything worthwhile in your lifetime.

"True contentment" is akin to the 1936 German government plan for business owners. I'm sure if Texas_DawgS*it had more than a NEA education, he might know something about that. In his book, contentment means doing what you are told by the government, or in his case, his parents.

Haha. You think Communists don't own "businesses" and profit in them? You must not have followed the 20th Century very closely.

And it's really too bad that my taxes will have to pay for your retirement because you're too stupid to create anything worthwhile in your lifetime.

Doing just fine, thanks. Wealthier than I could ever imagine and constantly becoming moreso. Like most Americans. Glad to hear you are too.

You don't understand what true contentment means, obviously.

You, OTOH, are perfectly content to steal from others and avoid being called on it.

Real Americans are accountable.

"Superconductors"

Which reminds me as to why I want a conservative in charge of Florida still. Jeb is much more conservative than his brother. I just hope the next governor continues the trend. I want Florida and Texas to lead the way in this field.

Have you ever read Das Kapital??

So would you describe yourself as an overwhelmingly happy and joy-filled person? It's a simple "yes" or "no" question. I'm just wondering if you would describe yourself that way (whether I or anyone else would agree). Would you?

Yes. (And I find it hilarious how many FReepers are very intrigued by this book (not saying you are; many here think it is a brilliant book though).)

You are trying desparately to get the attention deflected off of you.

You can't stand the scrutiny.

Can you answer the question? Why can't any of you answer the question? It's a very simple yes or no.

And what is it with you and this "happy happy, joy joy" bullsh*t?! Move out of your parents' basement and get out in the real world.

So then you admit the true definition of a "Communist" (if they owned a business as you contend) was not fufilled as the true commie is driven to ideological purity?

Admit that then we can talk.

Why can't any of you answer the question? It's a very simple yes or no.

The simple answer is none of us are like you, none of us are content to violate the rights of others, none of us proclaim war on our fellow Amercians.
