Well, given that there is a High Probability (according to the US government no less) of Islamic psychos using commercial aircraft to commit mass murder, and given that another Egypt Air jet went down in 1999 with its pilot yelling "Allah Ahkbar!" as he plunged it into the ocean, perhaps we might be allowed a certain hesitancy in swallowing the near-instantaneous conclusion of "no sign of terrorism".
I'm sure Flight 587 crashed in Queens a couple weeks after 9/11 purely by accident as well. That "wake turbulence" story sure makes more sense than a shoe-bomber.

PART of the problem, right now, is a maligning, dysfunctional 'filter' called the press or news media - we get only pieces of the story and sometimes outright misinformation because of the highly technical nature of flight/flying/flight control and instrumentation systems/ aircraft mechanicals and on top of that we have other such factors as weather, people/pilots and navaids/communications to also consider at the right time ...
