This is all BBC has so far:

An Egyptian charter plane with 135 passengers on board is believed to have crashed after disappearing from radar screens.
It is reported to have crashed into the Red Sea.

An unconfirmed report says most of those on board were French.

More follows...

Any idea on which airliner? I had the "pleasure" of flying EgyptAir from JFK to Cairo then on to Hurghada, a few months before the same flight took a header in the ocean. I heard this flight was out of Sharm-al-Sheik, so it could be a number of charters.

Remember a few years back before 9/11, when an Egyptian pilot deliberately brought a plane down - and later when the black box was recovered, the pilot was found to be uttering a mantra, something like, "God is great, God is great..." over and over.

Maybe no connection, but these wacko Egyptians are somewhat suspect.

Reporting majority of ~135 passengers are French tourists....

That rules out pasenger-thrwarted hijacking attempt.

Sounds like an accident (bad weather reported at the airport), but I wouldn't rule the Islamist in the boat with the S.A.M. scenario, either.
