It's likely just a funny coincidence but the "Yana" River caused me to think of "Ishi",the last man of his tribe in Calif. after they were killed off.
I'm thinking "Yana" was either the name of his "Tribe" or meant "man",possibly both,in his language.
It's been a long while since I read about Ishi,so I might be wrong.
