[history]
A 31-year-old Tennessee man is in federal custody after trying to enter the cockpit during a Northwest Airlines flight from Detroit yesterday afternoon.
According to Department of Transportation spokesman Scott Ishikawa, the incident occurred about two hours before Flight 923 arrived in Honolulu. Ishikawa said a first-class passenger tried to enter the pilot's area. The passenger was subdued by a female flight attendant, who was assisted by two off-duty Northwest employees. No weapons were used and no one was injured.

Thank God nothing has happened over New Years.
Seems to be a flurry of such incidents over the past few days.

(CNN) --The FBI on Thursday detained a man after he allegedly became "unruly" on a Northwest Airlines flight from Detroit to Honolulu and had to be subdued by the flight crew, an FBI official said.
According to Honolulu FBI Special Agent in Charge Charles Goodwin, Brandon Gabriel Rines has been charged with "Interference With a Flight Crew" and is being held at the Federal Detention Facility in Honolulu.
"Rines initially became agitated and would not remain in his seat," Goodwin said in a statement.
"He subsequently became more unruly, at which time he was subdued and restrained by crew members."
The incident took place as the country is under an orange terror alert and numerous flights to and from the United States have been canceled or delayed over security concerns.
"There is no apparent nexus to terrorism," Goodwin said.
Northwest Flight 923 left Detroit at 9:29 a.m. and arrived in Honolulu at 2:34 p.m. (7:34 p.m. ET).
The episode took place about 90 minutes before the flight landed in Hawaii.
Rines is expected to appear before a U.S. magistrate on Friday, according to the FBI.
- One federal source said Rines claimed he had to talk to the pilot.
- Rines path was from Tennessee to Detroit to Hawaii.

Just like the 'Englishman' Richard Reid. Who actually had a weapon he intended to use unlike this fool.

Why would anyone leaving Detroit for Hawaii be agitated??
To: Happy2BMe
Does seem to be a spate of them, doesn't there?
Strange.

"Why would anyone leaving Detroit for Hawaii be agitated??" In the case of this guy, he couldn't find his shirt.
He was asking if anybody had seen his shirt.

The passenger was subdued by a female flight attendant . . .
I bet Mr. Rimes is feeling pretty embarrassed right now, or else that was not your average female flight attendant.

Why would anyone leaving Detroit for Hawaii be agitated?? My thoughts exactly. If it was flying from Hawaii to Detroit, I can see taking over the plane and forcing it to return to Hawaii. No jury would ever convict.

I can remember when a passenger could go to the cockpit to watch them fly(not on take offs nor landings) if you asked, it was cool to see them with all of their instruments. I always asked to go up to the cockpit if I had a small child with me to show him the pilots flying.
After looking at the cockpit, you then go back to your seat and have a cigarette.

"After looking at the cockpit, you then go back to your seat and have a cigarette." Oh - you mean back when a man was a man, a woman was a woman, right was right, wrong was wrong, and it was O.K. to open a door for a lady.

This just made me think that AQ could have two people flying on these planes...one could provide the distraction, and the other --may even help take the guy down, and then go after the pilot, himself.
We have to be REALLY aware, and alert for any possiblity!

Do you recall the incident where a dependent USAF wife conspired with Muslimes in Germany to blow up (and kill) several key buildings on one of our Air Force bases in Germany?
HINT: Muslimes target weak white women and recruit them into their jihad.
What better decoy, ally, agent to use than an unsuspecting frail young white woman.
