New ultimate Pro-Life links page.

Posted on 01/01/2004 6:29:53 PM PST by Indefens

Hello everyone. This is just to let any pro-lifers on this board know that I have constructed what I believe to be the most comprehensive categorized page of pro-life related links on the net. My page contains over three hundred links for pro-life resources, education and activism in all fifty states and nations worldwide; everything from pro-life themed personal checks and calling plans to Crisis Pregnancy centers is covered. Please check it out and bookmark it, if it serves your needs, as I have created it for members of the pro-life community to use. It is located at

http://www.indefenseofthefetus.com/links.html

Thanks. Marc

P.S. This was my first post on Freerepublic so please forgive me if I have done something terribly wrong.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to view my site, and also for your helpful suggestions. I have updated the links page where applicable- the cloning article was an especially nice find. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any working links to a web site for Vegans for Life, but I did find a similar pro-life pro-animal rights organization. Also, I couldn't find Witches for Life, but I do have a link to Pagans for Life in the alternative pro-lifers section.

Would you care to now address the following from your site? ... "Yet let us push beyond our visceral homophobia and ask ourselves honestly: is it the mere mention of homosexuality that worries us, or examples of homosexual behavior?" May I ask, which issue is more important to you, homosexual 'rights' or right to life?

Thanks for taking the time to read my actual homepage, as well as the links. To answer your question, the most important political issue to me, hands down, is the right to life. I wrote the essay you've lifted that quote from, regarding the importance of the Pro-Life Alliance of Gays and Lesbians, because I believe that the inclusion of such "alternative" pro-lifers (i.e. gays, vegans, feminists, etc...) is key to the lasting success of the pro-life movement. (You'll notice that at no point in my essay do I address the issue of gay rights.) It is my belief that the unfair stereotype of pro-lifers as a bunch of Bible-thumpers desperate to enforce their morality on others prevents a sizeable chunk of America from self-identifying as pro-life. It is also my belief that the existence of openly gay pro-lifers helps to counteract this stereotype, and that we have a moral responsibility AS PRO-LIFERS to use their presence for the sake of the unborn. I should add here that I am speaking as a born again Catholic willing to work with anyone for the restoration of human rights to the unborn. You may oppose gay rights and active homosexuality in general, but please don't question my motives. Politically speaking, I am pro-life above all else.

Indefens, thanks for the great compendium. I have your site now in my high-priority bookmarks, like AAA-Prolife, which alphabetizes at the top.

cpforlife, please add me. Thanks.

I personally feel that the issue of God given right to life is so much more important than any other issue currently tossed about in the nation, no other issue ought be raised along with it. To address something else while touting prolife agenda is to use the issue of LIFE as a means to raise a separate agenda. I would site for you the inclusion of many atheists in the Prolife movement ... but not many even know these folks are atheists because they stick to the important issue, LIFE, and do not use that issue to address a separate agenda.

I agree that the right to life is far more important than anything else being bandied about in the nation right now. It is, I think, a sign of our society's decadence that our media has paid so much attention recently to the issue of gay marriage and generally pays so little to the issue of human rights for the unborn.

I also strongly agree that pro-lifers ought not to use the pro-life movement as a way of advancing a seperate agenda. However, I do think that pro-lifers can bring up other agendas IF doing so advances the pro-life cause. For example, if I were debating another Catholic on the abortion issue, I might tie my Catholocism to my stance on abortion as a way of persuading that other person to come around to my way of thinking. I would not, however, use the pro-life movement as a platform for evangelizing. Likewise, I think pro-life gays should be given a chance to say to other gays and their supporters on the left, "Look, we appreciate your activism on our behalf. But by being pro-choice, you dehumanize the unborn, and that is unacceptable. We do not want your sympathy if you aren't willing to extend it to everyone." From my interactions with the folks at PLAGAL, it seems to me that this is basically what they do. If they (or any other pro-life group) loses sight of what's truly important, you have my assurances that I will right another "featured essay" condemning them.

Just checked out CPforlife.org. It's a great site and I have added it to my links list, along with a note suggesting any interested reader check out the article on the "missing key" to the pro-life movement.

Thanks again to everyone for their suggestions. You are helping me to improve my page.

Thanks for these GREAT links!

Here's one for ya to think about. In your wildest imagination, did you ever think that abortion could be linked to illegal Mexican immigration?

Q: Why does the United States Government permit wholesale illegal Mexican immigration?

A: For the workers.

Q: Why does the United States Government need foreign workers (not just Mexicans)?

A: It does not have enough labor force to meet the service sector and other blue collar work sector demands and growth within it's economy.

Q: Why does the United States Government not have enough workers to meet economic demand?

A: Over TWENTY MILLION AMERICAN WORKERS HAVE BEEN ABORTED OVER THE PAST TWENTY YEARS.

Q: If over twenty million American workers have been aborted over the past twenty years, who is going to pay for (read: generate taxes) the Social Security of the baby-boomer generation (now reaching critical mass)?

A: Mexican workers.

Final Question: If they had survived, who would they have to thank for it and WHO WOULD THE TWENTY MILLION ABORTED AMERICANS HAVE VOTED MOST FOR?

Any questions?
