They seemed to have a concensus of opinion that the Republicans would not get close to getting a 60 majority, but would get maybe 54 or 55.If the President were to make the composition of the Senate a major issue this year, I believe an aggressive recruitment of quality GOP candidates could tally a 57 ot 58 GOP majority.
The 5 southern Democrat retirements are the GOP's to lose - and that's just the start.
Reid in Nevada is beatable.
So is Lincoln in Arkansas and Murray in Washington.
If the President's coattails are of historical proportions as I guess, Daschle is also toast.
And there might be a couple of upsets either way.
We need to encourage JC Watts to step up to the Senate and hold onto Nickles' seat.
How great would it be to see Watts and Herman Cain in Georgia both win Senate seats!!
History might be made this year.
I'll be working hard, that's for sure.

(I don't believe anything a Democrat says. Bill Clinton set the standard!)

They also talked about two Republican black candidates who could win in the House. I wasn't familiar with either name.

GOP will pick up at least 4 of the 5 open Senate seats in the South. Rove is going to clear the field for Mel Martinez in Florida and Martinez will whip Peter Deutsch in the General.
"Reid in Nevada is beatable"
State Treasurer Brian Krolicki has formed an exploratory Campaign committee to run against Reid. If Krolicki runs then we've got a 50-50 shot at winning, probably an even better chance considering Dubya will have Mega-Coattails in Nevada.
"So is Lincoln in Arkansas and Murray in Washington."
Lincoln is safe, Murray is not.
"We need to encourage JC Watts to step up to the Senate and hold onto Nickles' seat."
Humphreys is already leading Carson in Oklahoma and the field has been cleared for him. Safe GOP.

McGovern got sent home (to SoDak). IMO McGovern was a hell of a lot more impressive, than Daschle.
"Impressive" meaning national stature, name importance, etc.
