Also, the judge in the federal case against Terry Nichols admonished the government for being less than forthcoming about John Doe #2 and other matters regarding international terrorism.

Laurie Mylroi believes in an international terrorism link behind the OKC bombing as well. So does the Wall Street Journal (I have a link somewhere on my hard drive). These aren't nut jobs who believe this, and the evidence is compelling.

If this is the same plane as last night, maybe the intell was that the return flight out of Dulles which would be used for terrorism since it would be filled with fuel.

The book The New Jackals, written in 1999, is a must read for those interested in this matter. The author is apolitical (at least in the book) and discusses how very difficult this kind of terrorism is to fight.

There are other little tidbits in there you will find fascinating, but I don't want to ruin the book for you. Suffice to say that OBL's liver problems are discussed and you will understand why he hasn't looked as healthy in recent years.

I've seen alot of these OKC threads on FR, but I must admit I always have trouble following the basic thesis. I understand Clinton's motivation in all of it, but I always fail to grasp why and how the FBI is involved, and to what end.

For crying out loud, maybe they just depend on people to be wise enough to realize that if a flight does not come in to Washington, it cannot leave later! People who think sinister things FIRST, are people who for whatever reason want to think of the worst.

Regarding the FBI, Laurie Mylroi was on C-Span the other day and asked about the FBI in general and she had some answers to why the FBI didn't work as diligently as they should have on the OKC bombing. If I find an article that explains it, I'll link it.

Clinton used the OKC bombing to turn his election campaign around. He put Rush Limbaugh and talk radio on the defensive, he convinced most voters that there were "right wing militias" all over the place constituting a present danger to the country, and he sicced the FBI on them.

That's one reason why the FBI did such a lousy job with real terrorism--because clinton and Reno instructed them to go after the politically incorrect terrorists, abortion clinic bombers, and the like.

The political significance of OKC is well covered in Evans Ambose Pritchard's book on Bill Clinton. There's good evidence that the FBI was involved, and that clinton knew about it beforehand, so he had his speech all ready to go after it happened.
