the ONLY security issue the US and Germany disagreed on since WW2

so, basically, we've agreed on everything except the two largest threats to the United States and the world at large in the 20th century? That is not agreement at all. That's a damning statistic.

I'm not saying anything about you -- for it seems that you are German or identify strongly with Germany. It is possible and sometimes necessary to make a distinction between the representatives of a nation and the citizens of a nation.

The statistics isn´t damned, because Germany is a complete new state. Founded in 1949, the Federal Republic of Germany has stood firmly at the US side, not only because of the Soviet thread, but because of conviction. Germany has the same values like the US: freedom, democracy. It is not going to allow terrorist or dictators to rule the world and to dismantle our free society. Tell me on which security issue the German government disagreed on with the US government since WW2 - except Iraq!

Iraq? LOL, please. A big threat to the region yes. The biggest threat to the world? Not even close. Try Pakistan or Iran or North Korea or China. Pakistan is soon going to be an al Qaeda nuclear nation. North Korea already has nukes and is run by someone who is certifiably insane. Iran is working on a nuke program and they will have their reactor online soon without intervention. China is a threat to Tawain and the entire SE Asia region and has nukes capable of hitting our west coast.

I would put any one of those nations higher on the list than Iraq was before March. Iraq was more strategically important in my opinion. Prime real estate from which to control the entire region. Not very much of a military threat though.
