Anybody else have problems getting to FreeRepublic?

Tried getting to FreeRepublic via URL "http://freerepublic.com" and got message "The file / cannot be found". I thought there was a Web site problem that was being fixed.
When I typed in "http://freerepublic.com/index.htm" I got in OK. Anybody else have that problem?

Had a problem getting FR this morning. But then I dialed up my ISP and things immediately got better.

I had problems yesterday refreshing....got a screen that said i needed to contact the freerepublic administrator....i tried twice...i then ran adware on my system and tried getting back on with no problem....i really do recommend adware in cleaning up your system.

Thanks for reminding us of one of the tragedies of 2003 - we sent them back :(
The truck boat, which we sank, looks pretty sturdy, doesn't it? However, there is another shot taken from a distance that shows the true scale and that truck suddenly looks pretty damn small.

a sure fire-way to find Free Republic if it's DNS service is down - type: 209.157.64.200 [Fr's dotted decimal address]
open a path [ctr+o] to FR and click OK.
