Clearly "it gets worse" refers to HD stating he would not get involved in the children's religious decisions, not in their decision to become Jewish. The sentence that Murray "lamented" was about Dean's lack of involvement, not the children's choice.
Unless one is just looking to be offended.

Quite correct. Dean is not as charming, however, so he isn't as effective at it.

I disagree with GOPers mouthing off about any of the Dem candidates at this point in time.
The in its current form, the Democratic Party is self destructing before our very eyes. The statements made on a daily basis by Dean, Kerry, Gephardt, etc. are doing far more damage to them and their party than anything we could ever do or say.
They are digging their own holes and making their own nooses. IMO, The best thing for us to do now is to keep handing them the shovels and rope.

Hey, I thought this piece was satire - seriously. I know it wasn't posted under humor but I didn't think these were the quotes of a "real" conservative leader.

This guy MURRAY is as bad as Dean. He's as egomaniacally
self-fascinated with his own opinions as Dean.

"
You are as ignorant of what it takes to win an election as Howard Dean."
With one difference. I'm not running for office.
Here's a headline for you ....... I, as an American, have a right to my opinion, as you, and Marple have.
Your comments have been duly noted, and filed.

Better plan for Clark.I've long said I fear Dean. Clark would scare me as well. I'll be so glad when this election is over, and Bush is still in the WH!
I just quit my job, and will have lots of time to work on his campaign.

I've heard William J. Murray preach. He's the son of Madalyn Murray O'Hair. Nutcases both.

The Deans and how they handle their religious upbringiing of their children is none of our business. To bring it up in a campaign is not appropriate.

We won that election, we didn't get 100 per cent. If Gore had not shown his colors in the debate it might have been different.

No need to get snippy. I was pointing out that you were being disrespectful of Marple by calling her foolish in a snide way. We need to converse here, not call people names when they disagree. And to purposely use my statements about political discourse, and that is what we are talking about, to be snide to me doesn't help a bit.

Snide to you? Me? A mere Bubba?
BTW, I called no one "names".
You must have me confused with someone who cares what you think.

"That's what we oughta snicker at. The husband was willing to reject Jesus Christ as his savior, and the wife was willing to throw her religion and heritage to the trash bin, in order to make a "compromise." That right there says all we need to know about Howard Dean."
I guess Dean's brand of "Christianity" wasn't attractive to either of his children.
But you hit the nail on the head about the liberal mindset. Principles are always secondary to "getting along" and "fitting in".
